What is a CloudMayor Shared Member?
A Shared Member is an integration point that can be used in one or more CloudMayor Communities. Shared Members possess static, well-defined configurations that remain independent of any particular CloudMayor Community. This maximizes reusability and lowers the risk associated with sharing credentials. Examples of Shared Members are integrations to: an email Inbox, a chat room/channel, a ticketing system, a database, a cloud storage resource, and pub/sub objects.
Shared Members can only be created by CloudMayor Administrators. Once a Shared Member is created, both Administrators and Users can add Shared Members to any CloudMayor Community. To learn how to manage Shared Members, please click here.
Advantages of Using CloudMayor Shared Members:
One of the significant challenges to successfully automating across platforms is the management of the integrations. CloudMayor removes this challenge by encapsulating and simplifying "how to integrate" from "how to best use the integration". Using Shared Members provides the following additional benefits:
- Ensures consistency across CloudMayor Communities
- Restricts the sharing of access credentials
- Simplifies credential changes required by internal controls
- Expedites the assembly of CloudMayor Communities
- Reduces access failures
