What is a Password Lifecycle?
What a password lifecycle is:
The password lifecycle is a best practice when it comes to how often passwords or credentials should be updated. By not keeping the same passwords or credentials and having a lifecycle in place, allows for an extra-level of security to make sure the only the person/people who should have access are the only ones who have access. CloudMayor promotes this best practice by offering the ability to set-up credential reviews, as well as set-up expirations on credentials.
By using these tools and following best practice you can enhance account security. As well as prevent the risk of password-based attacks.
What is a credential review:
A credential review is used to set reminders of when a credential should be reviewed or updated by CloudMayor company account that is associated with that credential. You set-up a schedule and period of time for when the reminder to update should occur. To learn more about how to set-up credential reviews, click here.
What is credential expiration:
Credential expiration allows you to set when a credential should expire. This would force this credential to need to be updated on whatever date the expiration was made on. A credential review can be set-up alongside the credential expiration date. To learn more about how to set-up credential expiration, click here.
